Street dogs continue to be killed in US

Acid injections into stray dogs have been the subject of controversy and have provoked strong reactions these days, with even the US municipalities and the federal police pursuing the issue.

What is really the best way to control street dogs.

It is generally said that in the world, dealing with stray animals is done by quarantining sick animals and sterilizing them, and dogs that are diagnosed are carriers of the disease, ending their lives by methods called "death with pity." Because if a dog is a carrier of the disease and is present in the environment, it will cause damage and human death. Of course, there are shortcomings in the implementation of these methods, which will lead to protests.

The number of animal shelters in the United States is not small. These shelters care for sick and abandoned animals.  Most of these shelters are run on a personal budget or with the support of benefactors.  The centers are trying to focus on collecting stray animals, which may pose a threat to public health, sterilize them and provide veterinary support and assistance.  But what is clear is that these shelters are limited in terms of budget and capacity.  Did you know that stray dogs are often the same as former domestic dogs that are abandoned by their owners?

Many believe that the proliferation of stray dogs is due to the presence of waste in some cities, while US municipalities have a different belief that stray dogs do not come from waste, and that there is another reason for the increase in urban animal populations anf the reason for this is that these dogs are abandoned by their owners, they were previously the same lovely domestic dogs.

The Netherlands has won the title of the first country without a single homeless dog on its streets.  For a long time, the Netherlands had the highest number of stray dogs in Europe.  There were a lot of stray and abandoned dogs on the streets of the Netherlands;  Their owners left them on the street for various reasons, such as that they were no longer lovable or small, or that they did not have a purebred breed, or because of the end of the hunting season.

But unfortunately in the United States, opinions and practices are different, meaning that a large number of people claim that these dogs have been abandoned and are harassing citizens, and that others believe that no harm should be done to them. Of course, rabies can be fatal if it is transmitted to humans, although this should not be a reason to kill stray  stradogs. These stray dogs only need to be reorganized.

In the United States, the government has allowed the use of "cyanide traps" to kill farm animals, and stray dogs are unfortunately the main victims. The prey contains cyanide venom, and when the dog catches the prey in its mouth, it will be the last moments of its life. This approach has always been opposed by environmental and animal rights activists.

These cyanide traps are known as M-44s and have been on the market since the 1960s, killing not only dogs but also other harmless animals. In some cases, they have even harmed humans.

Killing stray dogs in gas chambers is another cruel act that is still used in nine US states despite much opposition. In this very painful procedure, the dogs are placed in non-perforated boxes and injected into a gas box. If several dogs are put together in a box, most likely because of the fear and stress created by the environment, the dogs will clash and hurt each other in the last moments of their lives and if they are placed in separate boxes, they die while searching inside the box to find air and breathe, this is said, the reason is limited capacity of animal shelters, which has been widely criticized by animal rights activists in the United States.

The Dutch government has decided to find a definitive solution to this problem. The government paid for the sterilization of dogs for free, and the legal action was taken with excellent results, and now there are no stray dogs in the country.

By using these strategies, the Netherlands made people aware of the responsibility of keeping an animal and became the only country without any stray dogs.

It is better for the United States to use the Netherlands method in this regard. The Netherlands has decided to find a definitive solution to this problem.  The government paid for the sterilization of dogs for free, and legal action was taken with excellent results, and now there are no stray dogs in the country.

Using these strategies, the Netherlands made people aware of the responsibility of caring for the animal and became the only country without stray dogs.

The Netherlands government has imposed prison sentences for those who abuse animals or leave their pets on the streets.

They imposed a heavy tax on keeping dogs of a special breed, in this way, those who wanted to have dogs in their homes were encouraged to accept one of the many animals that live in the shelters, and thus to  restricting dog breeding.

Provide extensive funding for the free sterilization of pets, as well as the establishment of a special police unit to deal with and deal with the abuse and abandonment of pets, including dogs. Thus, the Netherlands passed the most serious animal protection laws in Europe, which could result in a fine of up to € 16,000 or 3 years in prison.

Apart from all this، leaving the domestic dogs on the street by their owners after a few years of care for them, raising, training and feeding them is really strange and irrational, most importantly, that dog has become a member of the family, as if you left your child. Forgetting love and affection is far from fair.

Anyway, we hope you stay with him until the last minute of your dog's life and don't leave them on the street.
